We're now listening to the Speaker of the House of the AAFP. Gave some general comments about the activities of the AAFP & what they are doing with healthcare reform. She's taking some questions now & I'm sure this will be a bit more "heated" that her talk ;)
Richard asked a nice question about the idea that we already do all the "medical home" things, and some members complain about the administrative burden with NCQA, and i got the impression that it's just too bad. Again, "it's the only way", and we need to give that up.
Twice the speaker mentioned that as a national organization we don't care if it's public or private. I guess it's true that we don't care as long as we get paid, but do we really not have an opinion on how the insurance companies increase admin burdens and public plan could lower cost? Surely we can't ignore this.
